The GROHE 47743000 is a thermostatic cartridge retaining ring for the specified shower mixers, bath/shower mixers and concealed thermostatic mixer assemblies listed below. It fits behind the temperature-control handle and secures the thermostatic cartridge within the mixer body.
Also described as a fitting ring, this component retains the cartridge rather than regulating the water temperature or controlling the flow. It replaces the discontinued GROHE 10101000 retaining ring in the corresponding installations. The thermostatic cartridge, flow-control mechanism and control handles are separate components.
| Part number | 47743000 |
|---|---|
| Component type | Thermostatic cartridge retaining ring / fitting ring |
| Installation position | Temperature-control side of the mixer assembly |
| Finish | Chrome |
| Service-tool engagement | 34 mm |
| Superseded retaining-ring code | 10101000 |
The 34 mm measurement identifies the service-tool size, not the ring's outside diameter or thread diameter. A matching spanner size alone does not establish that this ring fits another mixer.
47743000 replaces the original 10101000 retaining ring in the following installations. For concealed shower finishing sets, the retaining ring belongs to the associated internal mixer body, not the decorative trim alone.
Check the complete mixer code, production version and existing cartridge arrangement before ordering. This retaining ring is used alongside different thermostatic cartridges: several listed installations use 47439000, while the May 2019 onwards 34569000 arrangement uses 47885000. The retaining-ring code therefore does not identify the correct cartridge on its own. Reverse-inlet installations also require the appropriate model-specific cartridge selection.
The following are separate servicing parts, control components and tools for the identified mixer arrangements. They are not a single repair kit, and not every item is used in every model. Select each component against the exact mixer and the fault being repaired.
Isolate both water supplies before dismantling the mixer. Use the correct service tool and follow the instructions for the exact valve, including temperature adjustment after thermostatic-cartridge servicing. Inspect the existing retaining ring and its seating before deciding which components require renewal.
A dripping shower head or spout when the mixer is turned off, or an unstable water temperature, does not by itself identify a retaining-ring fault. Check the relevant flow-control or thermostatic components rather than assuming that changing the ring will resolve those symptoms.
