The GROHE 12433000 Aquadimmer is a screw-in flow and diverter cartridge used in selected GROHE thermostatic bath/shower mixers and wall-mounted shower systems. It controls water shut-off and flow and, depending on the fitted valve, switches the water between bath, shower or other outlets.

This is the flow/diverter control and not the thermostatic temperature cartridge. A common symptom of flow-side wear is water continuing to drip from the shower head or bath spout after the control has been turned off. The cartridge seal and associated adapter arrangement should also be checked before ordering replacement GROHE spare parts.

Before You Order

Check the exact GROHE mixer or shower-system model before ordering. Do not confuse 12433000 with the different 47364000 Aquadimmer. The two cartridges use different locating-pin arrangements and should not be treated as interchangeable from appearance or size alone.

The 47751000 adapter is used with 12433000 on many installations but is not used beneath every 12433000 cartridge, so the existing valve arrangement should be checked before ordering an adapter. If the problem concerns temperature regulation rather than flow shut-off or outlet diversion, 12433000 is not the temperature-control cartridge.

Common Flow-Side Fault

- - Symptom: Water continues to drip from the shower head or bath spout after the flow control has been switched off

- - Likely cause: Wear to the Aquadimmer, its O-ring, or the associated adapter and seals where fitted

- - Solution: Confirm the valve model and inspect the 12433000 cartridge, O-ring and adapter arrangement before replacing parts

Installation Note

The flow-control handle and the components beneath it must be removed to access the cartridge. Handle removal differs between GROHE models. Before fitting the cartridge, lubricate its O-ring with suitable plumbing silicone grease to help the cartridge seal correctly within the valve.
