Troubleshooting and Fitting

Symptom: water continues dripping from the shower head or spout after the control is turned off. Likely cause: the flow valve is not sealing correctly; the condition of the valve seat should also be checked. Solution: identify the installed flow valve, inspect the sealing arrangement and replace the faulty component as appropriate. A new cartridge will not repair a damaged valve-body seat.

Isolate the water supply before removing the existing cartridge. Follow the servicing instructions for the exact mixer, check the seating and threads, and test for leaks and correct shut-off after reassembly. A temperature-control fault requires separate diagnosis rather than automatically replacing the on/off valve.
