Summary
Dornbracht 9090031660090 is a compatible spare volume control shower cartridge for selected Dornbracht concealed thermostat assemblies with one-way or one-function volume control. It is used on the flow control side of the valve to open, close and regulate water volume and is separate from the thermostatic cartridge that controls mixed water temperature.
The same Dornbracht spare is also referenced as 90 90 03 166 00 90 in spare parts diagrams, where it is identified as the top or upper part in the cartridge assembly. A worn flow cartridge can make the control stiff, difficult to shut off or allow water to drip from the shower outlet after the valve has been turned off.
