NOTE: Please make sure that this is the correct Aquadimmer cartridge as there are a number of different diverter flow cartridges that have been used in the Aquadimmer range.
The GROHE 49084000 is an AquaDimmer control cartridge used inside selected concealed two-handle GROHE thermostatic shower and bath mixer controls. Depending on the host mixer, it provides shut-off and flow or volume control, or combines shut-off and flow control with diversion between two water outlets.
The 49084000 is the internal AquaDimmer control component and should not be confused with the separate 49028000 thermostatic cartridge, which regulates mixed-water temperature on the verified assemblies. GROHE has used different AquaDimmer cartridges across its ranges, so the complete part code and mixer model should be checked before ordering.

Check that the required cartridge code is exactly 49084000, and confirm the GROHE mixer model before dismantling the valve. Several different diverter and flow cartridges have been used within GROHE AquaDimmer applications, and appearance alone is not sufficient to identify the correct part. Do not assume that another AquaDimmer cartridge, such as 47364000, is interchangeable with 49084000.

Fault Checking
If the external control handle is intact, but the mixer will not shut off fully, does not regulate flow correctly, or does not divert reliably between outlets, the internal 49084000 AquaDimmer should be checked. Temperature fluctuation, or an inability to maintain the selected temperature, points instead towards the separate thermostatic control cartridge rather than the AquaDimmer.
