The GROHE 45882000 is a nominal 1/2 inch ceramic headpart cartridge for the flow controls of specified GROHE taps and shower valves. It opens anti-clockwise and closes clockwise through a quarter turn.

The headpart controls water flow using ceramic sealing discs. It is used in the individual controls of selected two-handle kitchen and basin mixers, pillar taps, concealed basin mixer bodies and shower valves. It is a flow-control component, not a thermostatic temperature-control cartridge.

Symptom: water continues dripping from the tap spout or shower head after the control has been turned off. Likely cause: the flow-control headpart or its associated seals may no longer be shutting off correctly. Solution: identify the affected control, check the headpart and sealing surfaces, and replace the faulty component after confirming the exact part required.

Before servicing, isolate the relevant hot and cold water supplies and follow the instructions for the complete fitting. Check the condition of the associated seals and seat, refit the handle in the correct operating position, and check for leaks after restoring the water supply. Do not force the control beyond its quarter-turn stops.
