Genuine Ideal Standard A951970NU11 small multiport single-lever cartridge for selected Ideal Standard and Sottini mixer taps and Trevi and Armitage Shanks manual shower valves. This is the original cartridge design with a 39mm maximum body diameter and a threaded metal spline for the handle connection.

The cartridge controls water flow and mixes the hot and cold supplies through the operating lever. It is used inside the mixer body beneath the handle and retaining components. This is a manual mixing cartridge, not a thermostatic temperature-control cartridge.

Before Ordering

Compare the removed cartridge with the photographs and measurements, including the threaded handle connection, locating pin, base ports and retaining arrangement. Check the manifold and handle adaptor as well as the cartridge itself. Do not select this part from the 39mm diameter alone. The Cone B5108AA also has a different cartridge reference associated with other assemblies, so its installed cartridge must be identified before ordering.

Fault Symptoms and Fitting Checks

Persistent water dripping from the tap spout or shower head when the lever is turned off can indicate worn internal cartridge sealing. Stiff operation or difficulty controlling the hot and cold mix can also require investigation. Check the surrounding seals, manifold and water supplies rather than assuming every leak or flow problem is caused by the cartridge.

Isolate both water supplies and release the pressure before dismantling the mixer. Inspect the cartridge seating area and the model-specific retaining and handle components during servicing. Follow the instructions for the exact tap or shower valve when refitting and checking for leaks.
