The Ideal Standard Trevi A962568NU is a combined flow-control and diverter cartridge used in selected Ceratherm, Idealrain, Alto Ecotherm, CeraPlus 2, Idealjet and Jado Neon thermostatic bath and shower assemblies.
This cartridge controls water shut-off and switches the mixed water supply between outlets, such as a bath spout and shower handset or an overhead shower and handset. Water temperature is regulated by a separate thermostatic cartridge.

Important A6290AA Production Change
A962568NU is specified for the A6290AA assemblies manufactured from October 2016 to June 2023. The assembly introduced in June 2023 uses A861774NU with A861776NU retaining and stop-ring components instead. These cartridges must not be assumed to be interchangeable. Identify the installed valve assembly before ordering, particularly for units manufactured around June 2023.
Common Fault Symptoms
- Water continues dripping from the shower head or bath spout when the mixer is turned off
- Water does not shut off fully when the flow control is closed
- The diverter becomes difficult to operate or fails to select the intended outlet
- Water does not flow correctly to the selected shower outlet
These symptoms can indicate wear, damage or an obstruction affecting the flow-control and diverter mechanism. Check the cartridge, seals, seating and connected components before replacing parts.
Installation and Before Ordering Checks
Isolate both water supplies and release pressure before removing the existing cartridge. Check the model-specific installation instructions and note the orientation of the existing cartridge before dismantling the assembly.

- Compare the original cartridge and its locating features with A962568NU
- Check the spindle, retaining nut and any separate handle carrier or extension
- Inspect the seals and cartridge seating for wear, damage or debris
- Confirm the correct assembly generation if the shower model has been revised
For the A4815AA assembly, the installation instructions specify a 30mm across-flats spanner for the diverter retaining nut. The cartridge must be installed with its locating peg at the top and the spindle arranged so that the right-hand port is closed. This orientation instruction relates specifically to A4815AA and should not be assumed for other models.
After installation, restore the supplies and check that water shuts off fully, the diverter selects the correct outlet and no leaks are present.
