This cartridge regulates the mixed water temperature inside the shower valve. It serves a different function from the separate flow cartridges and operating gears that control water flow and shut-off.

Technical Details

Check Before Ordering

Check the complete cartridge reference and the exact shower version before ordering. Do not assume that A963068AA and A963068NU are interchangeable. The Trevi Therm range includes different valve generations, so the range name or a partial cartridge measurement alone is not sufficient to identify the correct part.

Original MK1 temperature control handles have four flat sides, whereas MK2 temperature handles have two. Handles may have been changed during previous repairs, so use this only as an identification aid and check the original cartridge and valve arrangement as well.

Checking the Fault

Damaged or jammed operating gears can prevent the separate flow cartridges from opening or closing fully, affecting both flow and temperature regulation. Inspect these components when diagnosing the fault rather than assuming that every temperature problem requires a new thermostatic cartridge.

If water continues dripping from the shower head when the shower is turned off, inspect the on/off flow cartridges and their operating mechanism. The thermostatic cartridge controls temperature and should not be selected solely to resolve a shut-off fault.

Installation Note

Isolate both hot and cold water supplies before dismantling the shower valve. Follow the shower manufacturer's servicing instructions and, after reassembly, check for leaks and verify the outlet temperature before use.
