The Burlington SP581 is a shower valve on/off flow top cartridge used in selected Burlington Stour thermostatic exposed shower valves. This cartridge controls the top flow outlet and is used to turn the shower water flow on and off from the valve body.
The SP581 is used in Burlington BF1S, BF2S and BF3S Stour valve models. BF1S and BF2S are single outlet valves with the outlet controlled from the top flow control. BF3S is a two outlet valve, with SP581 used for the top flow control and SP582 used for the bottom flow control.

A worn or damaged flow cartridge can cause poor shut-off, stiff operation or water continuing to drip from the shower head or handset outlet after the valve has been turned off. Before ordering, compare the removed cartridge with the product image and confirm the valve model code where possible.
When fitting, isolate the water supply before work begins. Silicone grease should be applied to the cartridge o-rings and bottom seal during installation to help protect the seals and support smooth fitting.
