Know Your Tap and Spare Part Guide: Franke Filterflow Kubus Tap Cartridge SP3561-C / 133.0194.089 Compatible

The SP3561-C (133.0194.089) Franke Filterflow Kubus tap cartridge addresses some of the most common tap problems. Read below for general information on the tap and the cartridge.

The Franke Filterflow Kubus tap cartridge is a ceramic disc tap valve cartridge. The outer shell is made from brass and the inner core is ceramic. Being a cold valve cartridge, the spare part opens in an anti-clockwise direction.

The tap itself is equipped with three cartridges: one hot valve cartridge and two cold valve cartridges. The extra cold cartridge is for the tap’s filterflow function.

This Franke Filterflow Kubus tap spare is a compatible cartridge, meaning, it is not the original spare part. However, this replacement cartridge is as reliable as the original with a more budget-friendly price. The part numbers of the original are SP3561-C and 133.0194.089.

Since this tap spare can also be fitted in other taps, knowing the measurements will help determine if this is an apt replacement. This Franke Filterflow Kubus tap cartridge compatible replacement is about 53.8mm in height and 23.8mm in diameter (at the widest part). It has 28 splines. The measurements of this cartridge can be seen in a visual form in the second image above.

Frequently Asked Questions: Franke Filterflow Kubus Tap Cartridge

Question: The tap gets super cold at times when in use. Why is this?

Answer: There can be one or two reasons for this:

• Other household appliances, such as the dishwasher, might be pulling hot water from the tap. This is normal and the fluctuating water temperature is temporary.
• The hot tap valve has debris that clogs the passage of hot water. Remove the Franke Filterflow Kubus tap cartridges and flush the valve to draw out the debris.

Question: The cold valve in my non-Franke kitchen tap looks exactly the same. I’ve counted the splines to 20. Will this spare part fit?

Answer: Unfortunately, this Franke Filterflow Kubus tap cartridge has 28 spline teeth so it will not fit. You can contact us and we will gladly assist you in finding the correct part.

Question: Why does the O-ring need to be greased?

Answer: This is why the cartridge O-ring has to be greased:

• The grease helps the new tap cartridge for the Franke Filterflow Kubus fit in the valve easier.
• It helps the cartridge seat and seals it in the valve properly.
• It serves as a layer of protection against pinching and abrasion while the cartridge does its job in the tap valve.

We provide the best silicone grease that will rightly aid your tap repair. Please see the section below for the available grease.
