Know Your Tap Spares: Franke Basel Tap Valve Cartridge SP3561 / SP3561-C / 133.0194.089 Cold Side Compatible
Tap valves and cartridges – such as this SP3561 / SP3561-C / 133.0194.089 compatible Franke Basel tap valve – come in different versions with different part numbers. Part numbers are important in determining which spare part is needed. But what if you don’t know the part number or want to ascertain if this compatible tap valve cartridge will fit in the tap? Here’s what you need to know.
First of all, you need to know the measurements of this replacement tap cartridge and approximate it with the spare part you have. This Franke Basel tap valve cartridge SP3561 (133.0194.089) compatible replacement part measures:
| Total length (from top to bottom of cartridge) | 53.8mm (5.38cm) |
|---|---|
| Diameter at widest part | 23.8mm (2.38cm) |
| Diameter at O-ring | 22.5mm (2.25cm) |
| Diameter of spline | 7.8mm |
| Spline teeth count | 28 |
Want a visual representation of the replacement Franke Basel tap valve cartridge? Please have a look at the second image in the gallery. It can help you know which measurements to take.
The splines act as a rotational and anti-rotational mechanism that allows the tap handle to turn on and off. Because the splines of the cartridge have to perfectly fit with the splines of the tap handle, the number of teeth (notches) has to be the same. A small tip for spline counting: mark the start point with a pen and then count from there.
Since the Franke Basel tap valve cartridge hot and cold are not interchangeable, there are other information you have to consider:
| Cartridge type | Ceramic disc tap valve cartridge |
|---|---|
| Bottom seal colour | Blue (Cold) |
| Close and open direction | Clockwise close (Anti-clockwise open) |
