The Abode Genio tap cartridge is a compatible ceramic valve. Brass covers the ceramic disc internals. The spare part has one O-ring. The blue bottom seal signifies the part is for the cold side of the tap, and therefore, closes clockwise and opens anti-clockwise.
There are two generations of the Abode Genio tap cartridge. The first one has a two-sided nut and the other a six-sided nut.
It is recommended to be aware of the measurements of this compatible Abode Genio tap cartridge. Approximate it with the measurements of the cartridge you have. In this way, you can establish if this spare part is the right fit. The second image in the gallery represents the measurements visually.

Basic Plumbing Tips: Abode Genio Tap Cartridge Replacement
As a safety measure, the primary tap cartridge pre-installation tip is to close the Abode Genio hot and cold water supply.
1. Bear in mind the order of the parts you remove to access the Abode Genio tap cartridge.
2. The tools needed for tap cartridge replacement are a 2.5mm Allen key, screwdriver and a 12mm spanner (or adjustable spanner).
3. A handle/bush that refuses to separate from the tap may require extra force to pull it out. Hold the base and spout of the tap as you pull.
4. It can sometimes be challenging to push a new cartridge in the tap seat. Applying silicone grease on the O-ring of the replacement Abode Genio tap cartridge will help it seat and seal in the valve.
Please refer to the “Other Items” box below to see the fast-selling plumbers grease we have.
