When installing the new cartridge, please make sure that there are no bits that are inside the shower valve or even stuck onto the cartridge. This can cause problems with creating a seal and can then cause water to seep through the seal and drip. One way to get rid of bits inside the valve is to use a towel, and stick it in side the valve, move it around to dry it off and loosen any loose debris. You can then remove the loose bits with a long instrument like a long thin paintbrush, or you can blow into the valve with force to push any bits out.
If you have little bits stuck on the cartridge, you can use the dry paintbrush to wipe it off. There's no right or wrong way to install it, just use some common sense. We recommend using silicone grease to prevent future drips.
