Ultra ZSPSBARCA13 Thermostatic Cartridge for Hudson Reed Shower Panels and Towers

The Ultra ZSPSBARCA13 is a thermostatic temperature-control cartridge used in selected Hudson Reed shower panels and shower towers. It fits inside the shower's mixing valve and regulates the mixed-water temperature.

This is the thermostatic cartridge, rather than the separate flow-control or diverter cartridge. Identifying which control is faulty helps ensure that the correct part is ordered for temperature regulation, water shut-off or outlet selection.

Check the shower's exact model code and identify the cartridge already fitted. Compare its overall dimensions, spindle and securing arrangement, rather than selecting a cartridge from its diameter or the shower's appearance alone. This is particularly important where different cartridge generations have been used.

Difficulty adjusting the temperature or unstable shower temperature may require investigation of the thermostatic cartridge, water supplies and filters. Water dripping from the shower when it is switched off does not, by itself, establish that the thermostatic cartridge needs changing; the separate shut-off mechanism should also be checked.

Fitting and Maintenance

Isolate the hot and cold water supplies before removing the cartridge. Follow the shower manufacturer's servicing and temperature-setting instructions. Apply a light coating of suitable silicone grease to the cartridge O-rings during installation, then check for leaks and correct temperature operation before using the shower.
