Turn off the water supplies before removing the cartridge. Wickes servicing instructions describe removing the handle parts and retaining nut before withdrawing the thermostatic cartridge for cleaning or replacement. Check the valve filters and water supply conditions as part of fault diagnosis because unstable temperature can also be caused by blocked filters, low pressure, reversed supplies or operating conditions outside the valve parameters.
