Question: How do I access and replace the Vado VEL-001A-WAX thermostatic cartridge in the Velo shower valve?
Answer: This is the process for replacing the VEL-001A-WAX Vado thermostatic cartridge in the Velo thermostatic shower valve.

– Isolate water supplies and pressure before dismantling the valve.

– There is a circular screw cover on the side of the Vado Velo’s temperature control knob. Remove this small button using a flat blade screwdriver or any blunt tool. (Be careful not to scratch the handle’s finish.)

– Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the retaining screw and pull the knob away from the bar shower valve.

– Remove the stop ring. (Please remember the position of the elevated part of the ring as this has to be placed back in the same position during reassembly.)

– Remove the locking nut holding that holds the faulty cartridge in the valve.

– Use needle-nose pliers or a box spanner (22mm) to pull the faulty cartridge out of the valve.

– Insert the replacement Vado VEL-001A-WAX thermostatic cartridge and reassemble the valve's temperature control knob.
