Ultra SINFV-S / SINFV Thermostatic Cartridge for A389 Infinity and A388 Tiamo Showers (No Handle).

This brass thermostatic cartridge is used to replace cartridges in the Ultra (and Hudson Reed) Infinity range of shower mixer valves.

The thermostatic cartridge control the mixing of the hot and cold water into the valve, therefore if you are having water temperature issues, the thermostatic cartridge is the prime suspect.

Ultra SINFV-S is a brass thermostatic cartridge for A389 Infinity and A388 Tiamo mixer showers from the Ultra and Hudson Reed ranges. It fits inside the shower valve and is supplied without the temperature control handle.

The cartridge regulates the mixture of hot and cold water to control the shower's outlet temperature. Incorrect or unstable water temperature, or poor response to temperature adjustments, can indicate a cartridge problem. The water supplies and temperature calibration should also be checked before replacing the cartridge.

Before Ordering

Confirm the cartridge fitted to your shower and compare it with the product photographs, checking the body profile, splined spindle, O-ring positions and filter arrangement. If you intend to reuse the existing temperature handle, check its condition and fit.

SINFV is also used for a separate thermostatic cartridge assembly supplied with a chrome handle. This SINFV-S item is supplied without the handle, so check which components you need before ordering.

Fitting and Temperature Setting

Apply a thin coating of suitable silicone grease to the O-rings during installation. After fitting, check for leaks and check the outlet temperature in accordance with the instructions for your shower. The A389 Infinity and A388 Tiamo instructions use 38°C as the temperature calibration setting. The temperature handle may need to be repositioned on its splined shaft during calibration.

For water dripping from the shower outlet when the shower is turned off, or difficulty switching between outlets, check the separate diverter mechanism as part of the fault diagnosis.
