Common problems caused by faulty thermostatic cartridges:

Temperature Issues
- Constant hot or scolding water temperature even when temperature handle turned to the coldest setting.
- Constant cold water temperature even when temperature handle is turned to the hottest setting.
- Water temperature keeps fluctuating and won't give a constant flow of the desired water temperature.

Flow Issues
- The flow of water is poor compared to the pressure of the water entering the shower mixer valve.

Temperature Handle Issues
- Temperature handle may not move as smoothly as it did when first installed. This is likely to grow stiffer and stiffer over time, even to the point where it seizes up completely or becomes difficult to turn.
