The thermo cartridge will have to be replaced periodically depending upon how hard the water is in your area. If you have soft water then this cartridge will last many years, however in very hard water areas, lime scale build up will damage the inner workings of the cartridge which will effect the performance of your Reflex shower.
Therefore, if you're experiencing problems with regulating the water flow or temperature, the chances are that the cartridge in the bar valve is faulty. You will need to replace the cartridge at this point.
