Question: What Vado shower valve is the CEL-001D-WAX compatible with?

Answer: CEL-001D-WAX is the thermostatic cartridge used in the Vado DGS Exposed Wall-Mounted Thermostatic Valve.

Question: I will also need the flow cartridge for a more complete shower repair. What is the flow cartridge used with the Vado CEL-001D-WAX?

Answer: The flow cartridge is CEL-002B-1/2.

Question: Can you tell me how to remove the handle to access the Vado CEL-001D-WAX thermostatic cartridge?

Answer: This is the replacement process for the Vado CEL-001D-WAX thermostatic cartridge. But first, isolate the shower’s hot and cold water supplies.

• Remove the small circular screw cover cap on the side of the Vado DGS temperature control handle.
• Undo the screw to remove the handle from the valve. Make sure the washers are removed with the screw.
• Use an Allen key to remove the grub screw from the faulty Vado CEL-001D-WAX cartridge. Pull the cartridge out of the shower valve.
• Apply plumbing grease on the three O-rings of the replacement CEL-001D-WAX Vado thermostatic shower valve cartridge.
• Fit the new part in the shower bar valve.
• Put back the parts removed in reverse order.

Question: Can I use any lubricant on the CEL-001D-WAX?

Answer: No, only silicone-based and heat conducive grease should be used on the seals of the Vado CEL-001D-WAX. Oil-based and other lubricants will not protect the O-rings and can deteriorate it earlier than intended.

Question: The Vado DGS shower is not running hot water. Do I need to replace the CEL-001D-WAX Vado thermostatic cartridge?

Answer: If hot and cold water from the feeds steadily flows to the shower valve, then the Vado CEL-001D-WAX might have stopped working and a replacement is needed.

Question: The CEL-001D-WAX grub screw is stuck in the valve. Can you give me options on removing it?

Answer: You can spray WD-40 on the part where limescale has overwhelmed the CEL-001D-WAX Vado shower cartridge. Leave it for some hours to overnight. Try removing the screw again to see if the solution has loosened the scale.
