This Bristan SKAK4000 is a thermostatic cartridge for thermostatic shower mixer valves where the existing cartridge is the SKAK4000 version without the threaded barrel. It is the complete cartridge assembly used to control the mixed water temperature inside the valve.
The cartridge works with the wax thermostat element and internal seals to regulate the blend of hot and cold water. Common symptoms of a worn, scaled or sticking thermostatic cartridge can include unstable temperature, the shower running too hot or too cold, reduced flow, or difficulty maintaining the selected temperature.
