The Kerox K40A HWS is a 40 mm ceramic single-lever mixing cartridge with a grey HWS limit ring, a flat base and two locating pins. It is designed for sanitary single-lever tapware manufactured to accept this exact cartridge configuration and controls both water flow and mixed-water temperature.
This is an HWS sequential-mixer cartridge rather than a thermostatic cartridge. The grey HWS ring forms part of the operating configuration and should be matched carefully against the cartridge being removed. The retaining nut should support the cartridge neck or HWS ring around its full diameter to avoid incorrect loading during installation.

Before Ordering
Do not select this cartridge from its 40 mm diameter alone. Compare the full cartridge body, stem profile, flat base, locating-pin positions and grey HWS ring with the existing cartridge. Standard K40A cartridges and other K40 HWS variants may use different configurations and should not be assumed to be interchangeable.
A replacement cartridge may be required when the mixer lever becomes stiff, temperature or flow adjustment becomes difficult or the tap no longer shuts off correctly. Isolate the hot and cold water supplies before dismantling the mixer and avoid overtightening the retaining nut during reassembly.
