Ideal Standard Armitage Shanks A4556AA is a Markwik 21 purging tool kit used with Markwik thermostatic mixers to flush debris from the hot and cold pipework before the mixer is operated or commissioned.
The tool is fitted into the maintenance port after the maintenance carrier is removed. It allows water to be discharged safely through a hose so installation debris can be cleared before the thermostat and internal mixer components are put into service.

Before Installation
- Isolate both water supplies before removing the maintenance carrier or fitting the purging tool.
- Check that the required O-rings are correctly seated on the chromed components before use.
- A 10mm Allen key is used to unscrew the end cap and remove the maintenance carrier assembly from the maintenance port.
- Flush until no debris is visible then remove the purging kit and refit the maintenance carrier.
- Check the mesh filters or strainers are clean before refitting and check the mixer for leaks after purging.
