This cartridge sits inside the shower valve body and controls the opening, closing and volume of water passing to the shower outlet. A common symptom of flow cartridge wear can be water continuing to drip from the shower head or outlet when the control is turned off.

Installation Note
Flush the valve and pipework before fitting the new cartridge to reduce the risk of debris damaging the seals or ceramic control surfaces. Lightly lubricating the O-rings and bottom seal during installation can help the cartridge seat correctly without pinching the seals.
