Ideal Standard A951129NU11 is a 1/2 inch TT rubber-washer tap valve internal, also known as a tap headwork or flow-control cartridge. It is the internal operating component used to control water flow within the tap, rather than a complete tap assembly.

The screw-down mechanism moves the rubber sealing washer to open or close the waterway as the handle is turned. This is a rubber-washer valve, not a ceramic-disc cartridge or a thermostatic temperature-control cartridge.

Before Ordering

Check that your tap requires A951129NU11 and compare the removed valve with the product photographs. Check the spindle profile, spline count, fitting thread and seating arrangement as well as the overall dimensions. Measure the existing valve in its fully compressed position when comparing the stated length. The nominal 1/2 inch size and spline count alone do not establish fitment.

Fault Finding

Symptom: Water continues to drip from the tap spout when the tap is turned off.

Likely Cause: A worn rubber washer, damaged headwork or a damaged tap seat may prevent the valve from sealing properly.

Solution: Inspect both the headwork and the tap seat before replacing parts. New headwork can address a fault within the valve assembly, but will not repair a damaged seat in the tap body.

Fitting Note

Isolate the water supply before removing the existing valve and follow the servicing instructions for your tap. After fitting, restore the supply gradually and check for leaks and correct shut-off.
