General Instruction: How to Change a Ceramic Disc Flow Cartridge
When the cartridge breaks and a replacing it is called for, turn off the water supply pipes. Remove the tap handle – since DF8203 is a cold side cartridge, disassemble the right side of the tap.

Use a small spanner or wrench to unscrew the cartridge free and clean the valve housing.

Grease the cartridge seals with silicone lubricant, then seat it in the valve and securely tighten it. Proceed to reassemble the tap handle.

What Makes a Ceramic Disc Cartridge Strong?
Fortified by fire, the ceramic used in a cartridge or valve is among the most robust of materials. This kind of tap, whether for bath or kitchen, is easy to maintain and holds out much longer than other valves.

A ceramic type valve has an upper and a lower disc. The above disc moves in conjunction with the opening and closing of the tap while the one underneath is immovable. Two water temperatures are combined by the valve with the help of a cartridge to thermometrically produce water that is neither too hot nor too cold. This can be adjusted by moving the temperature control handle from one side to another. Variables such as water hardness or pH level affect the cartridge minimally.
