The K-Vit Element KV5543 is a compatible shower valve diverter cartridge for the Kartell K-Vit Element concealed thermostatic shower valve and diverter arrangement. It is used for diverting water between shower outlets and is separate from the thermostatic cartridge that controls temperature.

This cartridge is intended for the diverter control position. A common symptom of diverter cartridge wear or seal failure is water continuing to pass to a shower head or outlet when that outlet should be turned off or when another outlet is selected.

Before Ordering

Check the existing cartridge against the KV5543 code, spline count, spindle size, body shape and locating pin positions before ordering. Do not order from valve diameter or general appearance alone, as the thermostatic cartridge and diverter cartridge perform different functions inside the shower valve.

Installation Note

Isolate the water supply before removing the old diverter cartridge. Clean the valve body, remove debris or scale around the sealing faces and apply suitable silicone grease to the O-rings and bottom seals before fitting the new cartridge.
