This compatible hot-side kitchen tap cartridge is used as a replacement for Bristan K-494J in selected dual-control kitchen taps including confirmed Manhattan applications plus Sigma Aquadisc 2 TAD2CM and Reginox Elbe applications identified for this cartridge.
The cartridge controls the hot-water flow through the tap. A common sign of a worn flow cartridge is water continuing to drip from the spout when the tap is turned off. Replacement can also be required where the hot control no longer shuts off correctly or operation has become stiff or inconsistent.

- For Bristan DS SNK C Disco the K-494J hot cartridge is confirmed for the GEN2 revision dated 05/02/08 and other revisions may use different valves
- For Aquadisc 2 TAD2CM compare the removed cartridge before ordering because different valve arrangements have been used within this tap family

Installation and Identification
Isolate the water supply before removing the existing valve. Check the removed cartridge body and spindle arrangement against the replacement before fitting and use suitable silicone grease on cartridge seals or O-rings where required.
