Fixing a dripping Franke Eiger tap can be uncomplicated, particularly when it comes to replacing the quarter turn ceramic cartridge. This is a S1022 and 133.0438.154 compatible cartridge for post-2005 March taps.

Before all else, please isolate the tap’s water supply. It will make sure you are safe from scalding in case of accidental water flow. Check if water has been isolated by turning the tap on. And, have a towel ready as leftover water can spill when taking the Franke Eiger tap valve 133.0438.154 or S1022 out of the tap body.

1. The handle retaining screw is under the tap lever handle. Use an Allen key to undo or loosen the screw.

Pull the lever handle to separate it from the tap.

2. Unscrew anti-clockwise, by hand, the valve cover. The top of the S1022/133.0438.154 Franke Eiger tap cartridge is now accessible.

3. Use a spanner or an adjustable spanner against the nut of the cartridge and unscrew it anti-clockwise. The bush may or may not come out with the cartridge.

4. Insert the replacement hot Franke Eiger tap valve in the tap seat. Screw the threads clockwise. Hand-tight. Do not overtighten.

5. Screw back the valve cover.

6. Return the lever handle and secure it in place with the retaining screw.
