The process for changing the cartridge is the same with the Franke Davos and Davos “J”. Before starting, please do not forget to isolate the hot side water supply line. And to prevent screws from rolling in the drain, put a stopper on it.
1. Detach the red indicator indice from the hot side handle. You can use a flat tool to remove it.
2. Use a small screwdriver to unscrew the handle.
3. Use a spanner to undo the threads and remove the cartridge.
4. Coat the Franke Davos / Davos J replacement cartridge O-ring with plumbing grease.
5. Seat the cartridge in the kitchen tap valve. Tighten.
6. Assemble the handle and clip the red indice in place.
If your Franke Davos kitchen tap is experiencing problems like low water flow or water leaks, it might be high time to replace the cartridge.
The Davos tap model has a flow rate of 4.5 liters per minute at 0.3 bar. Low water flow can be the result of a lack of water pressure or there are sediments in the cartridge blocking it. By checking the pressure with a water pressure gauge, you can see if it is the cause of the problem. Water pressure can be increased if it is too low for the tap.
Leaks arise out of a damaged tap cartridge. If left unattended, liters of water can be wasted and your water bill increased. If this is the case, and/or the cartridge is clogged, replacing it with a Franke Davos compatible tap cartridge is a cost-efficient must.
