Frequently Asked Questions: Carron Phoenix Opus Tap Cartridge Compatible Cold Valve
Question: The Opus tap is leaking from the handle. Is the cartridge the cause?
Answer: There are a few things that can cause the tap to leak:
- The O-ring of the cartridge is worn out;
- The cartridge barrel has cracks;
- Limescale and debris build-up due to poor water quality;
- Water pressure was increased.
When the tap leaks, replacing the Carron Phoenix Opus tap cartridge is a must.
Question: Why do I have to use silicone grease on the replacement Carron Phoenix Opus tap cartridge?
Answer: The grease will help the new Carron Phoenix Opus cartridge push in the valve and seal it in properly. It also serves as a layer of protection for the O-ring against abrasion.
Only grease formulated for plumbing purposes must be used on the O-ring of this tap spare. Other lubricant types may cause it to deteriorate earlier.
You can see a selection of silicone grease provided by Di Vapor in the last section of the page.
