Fitting the Abode Ludlow Monobloc Tap Cartridge
Replacing the cartridge in the Abode Ludlow Monobloc is a fairly straightforward process. Prior to starting the repair please ensure that the tap’s water supplies are turned off.
1. Remove the decorative indice that is stamped with “Abode”. With the indice out, you can now see the retaining screw.
2. Use a screwdriver to undo the retaining screw of the handle.
3. Pull the handle to remove it from the tap valve.
4. The valve cover or shroud can be removed by hand. Turn it anti-clockwise to remove.
5. Use a 17mm spanner to remove the faulty Abode Ludlow Monobloc tap cartridge. The faulty cartridge can be kept as a future reference.
6. Apply silicone lubricant for plumbing on the O-ring of the replacement cartridge for Abode Ludlow. This will make it easier for the cartridge to seat and seal properly in the valve. (Please see the last section of the page for the apt plumber’s grease.)
7. Insert the cartridge in the tap valve seat and restore the valve cover and handle.
8. Restore the tap’s water supply and check if cartridge installation is a success.
