Frequently Asked Question
Q: When I turn the shower handle, I hear a clicking noise. Does this cartridge have a clicking noise?
A: No, this is not right, the cartridge head turns smoothly and should not click. If it is clicking it sounds like something on the inside of the cartridge has broken and therefore you will need a new cartridge.

Q: When the shower was installed there were bits of dust and rubble (I assume) in the pipe system. When the shower was run, it worked for a few seconds but then stopped. Not it doesn't get hot. Is this because of the bits that were in the pipe or...?
A: This could either be a faulty cartridge, a problem with the boiler or it could be caused by the sediment that was in the pipes.

If it is the sediment, you could try to extract the cartridge, open it up and shake out the bits as it could be stopping the piston from moving inside (assuming the bits are big as you mentioned rubble).

If it is the boiler, the shower won't be receiving a balanced feed of hot and cold water. If it is receiving a steady flow hot and cold AND you have checked whether there is anything blocking the inside of the cartridge and the problem persists, then all indications point towards a faulty cartridge, to which you will have to replace.

Q: I only need the seals for this cartridge. Are there any seal kits for this?
A: Unfortunately at this point there are no seal kits available.

Q: I have 32 grooves on the handle spline. The one SC50-T32 has only has 32. Will this work?
A: Unfortunately this cartridge won't work and you will need to buy the 20 tooth version.
