Hudson Reed / Ultra thermostatic cartridge for the JTY026 Series F II dual exposed thermostatic shower valve, also known as the Tec Dual. This is the internal cartridge spare, not the complete exposed shower valve.

The cartridge regulates the mixture of hot and cold water to help maintain the selected shower temperature. The JTY026 valve has separate temperature and water-flow controls, allowing the shower temperature to be adjusted independently of the flow setting.

Fault Checks

If the shower does not become hot enough, check the hot-water supply temperature, maximum-temperature setting and any restrictions on the hot-water inlet before assuming that the cartridge is faulty.

Water dripping from the shower head when the shower is switched off can result from an incorrect flow-control setting or debris preventing shut-off. Check these causes before ordering a cartridge to address a leak.

Installation and Temperature Setting

Isolate both hot and cold water supplies before servicing. Have the cartridge fitted and the shower valve recommissioned in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. After fitting, check for leaks, confirm that the flow control shuts off correctly and measure the maximum outlet temperature with a thermometer before using the shower.

The JTY026 valve is designed to allow its cartridge to be rotated through 180 degrees where the hot and cold supply feeds are reversed. The installer must check the cartridge orientation and temperature setting before returning the shower to use.
