Fitting and Service Notes

Isolate the water supplies before removing the handle assembly or cartridge. After the temperature handle or cartridge has been removed, the thermostatic spindle should be recalibrated before refitting the handle. Turning the exposed spindle clockwise reduces the temperature and turning it anti-clockwise increases the temperature.

The cartridge can be removed for cleaning where debris or scale is affecting temperature response. Wash the thermostatic cartridge with clean running water, dry it and lightly grease the seals with silicone grease only before refitting all parts in sequence.

Troubleshooting

- - Symptom: output temperature does not match the selected temperature. Likely Cause: thermostat not adjusted to the water system. Solution: recalibrate the thermostatic spindle and refit the handle at the correct set temperature.

- - Symptom: shower will not run hot enough. Likely Cause: maximum temperature setting is incorrect or hot supply temperature is too low. Solution: check the water heater setting and recalibrate the valve.

- - Symptom: very low flow or no flow. Likely Cause: inadequate supply pressure or debris around internal components. Solution: check hot and cold feeds and inspect the valve filter and check valve.
