LX WP300-II Water Pump: Choosing the Right LX Water Pump for Your Hot Tub or Whirlpool Bath

Is the LX WP300-II 2 speed hot tub pump the correct water pump spare part for your hot tub or spa, and bath?

A water pump pulls water into the pump and emits it through a tub’s jets and circulates the water. Power supplied by water pumps ranges from ¾ horsepower to 5HP. Specifications on the majority of pumps in the market, like the LX WP300-II, can be found on a label on the body of the machine.

The capability of an establishment’s or a home’s plumbing must be able to sustain the power of a water pump, therefore, it is crucial to choose the proper one. If it is too powerful it may cause leaks.

To determine the voltage of a water pump, the information should be listed on the side label of the machine. Also, you can check if it has two or four wires. If it has two wires – one white and one green – it runs on 110-120 volts. If it has four wires – white, green, red and black – it is 220-240 volts.

Precaution: If water gets into motor, it could damage the LX WP300-II pump beyond repair. Debris caught in the rotor will hinder water flow. And a short in the motor’s wiring may result in a circuit breaker trip.

Another important detail to consider in choosing the right pump for your tub or whirlpool bath is the frame size. Hot tub water pumps are built with a 48 frame or a 56 frame. Holes for bolting it in place can be found on the frame of the pump. Contingent on the size of the frame, these holes can either be near each other or farther apart. The distance of the bolts in a 48 frame is less than four inches. In a 56 frame pump, the distance between the bolts exceeds four inches.
