This Franke Sion cartridge SP3794-C compatible has a spline diameter of 7.8mm and a 28 teeth spline. Turn the tap cold side handle 90 degrees anticlockwise to open and turn it the opposite direction to close.

Q: Can I interchange the hot and cold side?
A: No, the cartridges cannot be interchanged. The cold side closes clockwise while the hot side closes anticlockwise.

Installing the Franke Sion Tap Spare

Cartridges are made to last, usually twenty years. But, a number of factors can influence the lifespan of the tiny implement. Excessive hard water residue buildup, too strong water pressure, years of continuous usage are among the causes of inoperable cartridges.

Replacing the cartridge in the Franke Sion is fairly straightforward. The cold side handle of the tap is situated on its right side.

1. Close off the water supply lines to the tap to prevent accidental delivery of hot or cold water.
2. Undo the screw located beneath the tap handle to release the handle.
3. With the aid of a spanner unscrew the cartridge anticlockwise.
4. Add a small amount of silicone lubricant on the new cartridge and insert it in the valve seat. Tighten using the spanner by turning it clockwise.
5. Reattach the handle and secure it with the grub screw.
6. Open water supply lines and see if replacement is done correctly.
