Sing in the shower!
As we begin to get older, some of us start to worry about grey hair, wrinkly skin and maintaining a healthy youthful physique. But one of the biggest signs of ageing is forgotten about – and that’s our voice. The voice muscles like all of our muscles need looking after, with many people over 65 suffering from voice problems and others left sounding older than they actually are.
Voice is produced by many different workings in the upper body. To form the sound of voice that we are familiar with, the muscles of the abdominal wall and rib cage squeeze the lungs, making them exhale breath. When airflow comes up the windpipe it passes through the vocal cords, causing them to vibrate creating a buzzing noise. At the same time, the larynx – or voice box as it commonly known – adjusts the tension of the chord producing pitch.

As you get older, these vital tissues become tired. But something as simple as singing in the shower every day can help decrease the speed of the ageing process. This is one of the best ways to help preserve your voice, as it keeps the laryx muscles strong whilst the steam lubricates the voice box.
“Singing is gymnastics for voice” states Dr Andrew McCombe. “The control and neuro-muscular co-ordination you need means the voice is being used in a good way.” Joining a choir is one of the best ways to preserve a youthful tone, says Dr McCoombe. “Professional singers voices take longer to age as they muscles strong.”
So maintaining your youth may be as easy as belting out a few power ballads in the shower, just before your start your day.
Di Vapor Helping You to Keep Your New Years Resolution
Taming the bulge and losing weight is at the top of many people’s New Year’s resolutions. After a Christmas season of snacking, eating and drinking you may feel like you need to lose a few pounds; and you’re probably right! The most effective ways to lose that weight is to eat sensibly sized portions of healthy foods and to exercise. Healthy foods include fruits, vegetables, nuts & seeds, grains, seafood, beans & legumes, spice & herbs, eggs & low fat dairy, poultry and lean meats. Integrating foods that have rich portions of necessary vitamins and minerals is important and should become part of a healthy diet. Please see the food pyramid below, recommended by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Even though the obvious ways to lose weight are to eat healthily and to exercise, some people may still find it hard to lose weight. This could potentially be because there are chemicals, toxins or heavy metals trapped in the fat cells in your body, which need to be excreted to continue with weight loss.
Even though the obvious ways to lose weight is to eat healthily and to exercise, some people may still find it hard to lose weight. This could potentially be because there are chemicals, toxins or heavy metals trapped in the fat cells in your body, which are actually hindering the boy’s natural weight loss process. These chemicals may need to be excreted to continue with weight loss.
Case Story: The following story has been shared by one of Di Vapor’s customers. A woman was severely overweight which was causing many health problems. As a result she went to the Doctor and subsequently the Doctor placed the woman on a weight loss plan. After a period of time the woman had lost a significant amount of fat and weight but she found her weight loss plateauing and found it very difficult to lose any further weight. She went back to the Doctor and shared the frustrating problem. The Doctor said the reason the woman was finding it difficult to lose any further weight was because there were chemicals, toxins and heavy metals inside her body which were hindering the natural weight loss process, and recommended the woman use an infrared sauna to rid her body of these free radicals.
It’s likely that the weight loss problem this woman had is also an undiagnosed problem of many other people who are trying to lose weight but can’t understand why they are finding it so difficult.
On top of the detoxification benefits, sitting in a Di Vapor Solare infrared sauna can burn up to 600 calories in 30 minutes. The heat inside the sauna causes the circulatory system to work harder, which burns calories.
Consider a Di Vapor infrared sauna to help aid in your weight loss and to keep you on track with your New Year’s resolutions.

$500,000 health tests show its time to Detoxify!
David Duncan, 51, took part in the ultimate health examination to discover firstly how healthy he actually was, and secondly what science could tell him about the near future. He transformed himself into the human guinea pig undergoing a vast list of investigations including genetic constitution, how his environment impacted his body and how his organs, muscles and bones were standing up to wear and tear. The tests cost in excess of $500,000.
Duncan considered himself as a generally healthy man, from a family with little history of disease. He undertook many tests with some using the latest advancements in medical technology. One test required him to eat two servings of fish in one day to measure the change in mercury levels in his body (the change was big). Another required Duncan to provide blood samples to various scientists to indicate his susceptibility to certain diseases. He also sent blood and urine samples to a specialist laboratory in Canada who worked to monitor the intake of harmful toxins into the body – finding everything including shampoo, dust and even plastic food wrap – and how they had found their way deep into his arteries and veins. His sight, taste, hearing, and sleep efficiency were also tested.
It is these toxins which we work to remove from our bodies by inducing sweat through exercise or the use of a sauna. Sherry A. Rogers, author of Detoxify or Die states:
“What is the best way to get rid of toxic chemicals including pesticides, heavy metals and hydrocarbon residues when you can’t tolerate a sauna? When a sauna makes you feel weak, sick, have a fast heart rate, faint, dizzy, panicky, head achy or just plain miserable, what is the solution? The infrared sauna. Thanks to improved technology, the infrared sauna is far safer and infinitely more tolerable, because it uses heat energy that penetrates tissues, triggering mobilization of chemicals from subcutaneous fat storage, directly into the sweat”
David Duncan was fortunate enough to find that there was nothing seriously wrong. His knees were suffering from running too much on pavements, and he was made aware of a benign cyst on his kidney which was later removed. However, Duncan did reach two conclusions. First, that we have a lot to learn about the toxins that surround us each day in our work and home environment; and that it wouldn’t be long before full health tests like the ones he undertook became part of normal medical practice.
The amount of toxins that surround us each day, from motor pollution in the air to the varied skin products, is simply incomprehensible. These toxins inside our bodies really aren’t going anywhere unless we boot them out – I think I might go and have a sauna!
Steam therapy to cure sinusitis – Daily Mail
A towel and a bowl of steaming water may be a more effective way to tackle sinusitis than drugs. In a new trial, up to 300 patients will use inhalation to treat a condition that is often tackled with antibiotics. It comes in the wake of research showing that the amount of patients who recovered in ten days was about the same, whether they took an antibiotic or a placebo.
Acute sinusitis – inflammation of the linings of the sinuses – affects up to five per cent of adults. Symptoms include headaches, sore face and a blocked nose. In the trial, at Southampton University, researchers will compare steam inhalation and nasal irrigation, where patients flush 150ml of saline through each nostril daily for six months. The hot steam is thought to help clear the airways, which improves breathing and mucus flow.

If you suffer with sinusitis then a Di Vapor steam shower may provide a great treatment.
Infrared Saunas Good for Chronic Heart Failure
Are far-infrared saunas beneficial for patients suffering from chronic heart failure (CHF)? There have been many claims over the years about many miracle cures to health issues such as chronic heart failure, however not all of these declarations have been backed up by factual scientific evidence.
It is critically important that all claims are tested under controlled scientific environments from unbiased, none commercial institutions, as many corporate companies are willing to make unsubstantiated claims, or bend the truth in order to gain a sale.
A recent controlled scientific test has been conducted by the Department of Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Metabolic Medicine, Graduated School of Medicine, Kagoshima University in Japan, in an effort to test whether or not ‘Waon Therapy’ using a far-infrared sauna is effective in treating chronic heart failure (CHF). A sample of 188 patients were selected: from those 188 patients, 112 were grouped to be treated with infrared sauna Waon therapy and the other 76 grouped to be treated with conventional methods.
The infrared sauna therapy group used the sauna once a day for 15 minutes and were then kept in a blanket after the sauna session for an additional 30 minutes. This was repeated daily for 14 days. The conventional treatment group was also tested for two weeks with standard methods used for treating chronic heart failure.
What is Waon Therepy?
Waon therapy is simply increasing the core body temperature by approximately 1.0~1.2°C in an effort to help soothe, and in some cases heal the body from its ailment(s).
Heart Failure Facts (United Kingdom)
- Based on a survey of heart failure management in general practice, there was an average of 8.3 cases of heart failure per 1000 population.
- Heart failure is very age dependent, with 0.2 cases per 1000 for those under the age of 35, while there are 125 cases per 1000 for those aged 85 or older.
- The prevailance of heart disease doubles for every decade of aging.

ResultsBefore and after the treatment, all patients were measured with the following: NYHA functional classification, Chest Radiography, Echocardiography and Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP). The results were very positive, where the infrared sauna Waon therapy group showed ‘significant improvements’ in all the aforementioned tests. The conclusion of the research showed that, ‘Waon therapy is an innovative and promising therapy for patients with CHF.’For the full article, please visit: http://www.divapor.com/sauna-articles/sauna-therapy-chronic-heart-failure.php
