Shower market shows growth.
The UK shower market is expected to show steady growth over the next year, with significant increases expected by 2014 as shown in a recent marketing report produced by AMA Research. Over the next four years, AMA Research expect that the market will be worth around £435m this year, up 1% on 2009. But whilst the next two years are expected to be years of consolidation as the housing market begins to improve, AMA predicts that the shower market alone will be up by 15%.
Part of this growth will be due to the growing demand of water-efficient showering products, as the amendment to Part G building regulations for domestic water usage takes place. At present, the market is currently split into three main sectors with shower taps and controls taking just over 40%. Shower enclosures and shower trays take another 40% whilst shower accessories take the remainder. Builders and plumbing merchants still currently stand as the largest distributors of these products, but the web is now beginning to stand up for itself quite quickly as consumers hunt for the best possible deals.
